BLUEKIT Revolutionizes Lift
Shaft Fire Safety

BLUEKIT is a revolutionary technology to detect fire and smoke emitted from lifts and lift shafts.

Elevator shafts are silent risk zones — vertical highways for smoke and fire to spread rapidly through buildings. Enter BLUEKIT: the advanced smoke extraction and ventilation system that’s rethinking how we protect lives in vertical spaces.

Developed by D+H Mechatronic AG, BLUEKIT isn’t just another fire safety add-on — it’s a certified game changer designed specifically for lift shafts. Think early detection, instant action, and energy-efficient ventilation, all in one sleek system.

IOT - Revolutionizes Lift Shaft Fire

What makes BLUEKIT stand out?

  • CE-certified under EN 12101-2 and EN 12101-10
  • Integrated smoke and temperature sensors for lightning-fast detection
  • Motorized vents and dampers that activate automatically
  • Demand-controlled ventilation to cut energy use
  • Full BMS integration for centralized building control

Everyday Efficiency Meets Emergency Readiness

BLUEKIT isn’t just on standby for emergencies – it works 24/7 to
improve elevator performance by:

  • Controlling humidity
  • Preventing condensation and corrosion
  • Extending the life of your lift system

That’s fire safety + daily performance – all in one intelligent solution.

BlueKit – the perfect interplay
of reliable components

Perfect for New Builds and Retrofits

Whether you’re designing the next high-rise icon or upgrading an existing building, BLUEKIT fits right in:

  • Compact design for tight spaces
  • Flexible installation for all shaft types
  • Low-maintenance for long-term reliability

Why It Matters

Safety and energy savings at the same time was difficult to achieve for lift shafts, especially in aircondtioned buildings. Bluekit offers the advantage of the intelligent and independently operating system. With Bluekit, closure component is installed in the external opening in the lift shaft, this prevents the continuous escape of cool building air. In an emergency like fire or when ventilation is needed, the closure component opens automatically.

Safety with SHEV Ventilation
Welcome to the era of
smart, motorized façades.
Saving lives + Protecting property

A person can go days without eating or drinking, but only seconds without sufficient air. Therefore, the greatest risk for people when a building is on fire is the smoke and poisonous flue gas. In case of fire, an efficient smoke and heat exhaust ventilation (SHEV) system reliably removes heat, smoke and toxic gases. This keeps escape and emergency routes clear of smoke. Firefighters and emergency workers can reach the source of the fire efficiently and evacuate people quickly. This saves lives in emergencies. Additionally, building damage is reduced significantly and property within the low-smoke layer remains largely unaffected by smoke and soot.

  • Smoke levels in escape routes are kept low: People can exit the building more quickly in an emergency
  • Hot smoke gases are allowed to escape, reducing building damage
  • Smoke extraction is triggered in seconds, before firefighters arrive
  • Quick and easy maintenance

The world’s largest selection
of certified SHEV Products
Tested quality + Certified safety

A natural smoke and heat exhaust ventilator (NSHEV) represents the interaction of all the components of a smoke extraction solution – from the window profile to the window drive. All individual parts of a defined NSHEV system require safety certificates. Since 2006, the valid EN 12101-2 standard requires that all NSHEV components are configured in compliance with the standards, and are subject to elaborate testing procedures. Solutions from D+H feature safety from the most renowned testing institutes and remain the largest selection of certified systems worldwide. This provides optimum planning reliability for all relevant projects – without additional cost.

  • Maximum planning and application reliability, confirmed by
renowned testing institutes (VdS, MPA and IF| Aachen)
  • Largest range of EN 12101-2 solutions on the market
  • No additional costs for NSHEV

Smart Design for a Greener
World

The benefits of controlled natural ventilation High Air
Exchange + Low Energy Losses

Fresh air is conducive to learning, reinforces a sense of well-being, prevents mould formation and minimises the risk of transmission of diseases via aerosol-sized particles.

D+H solutions for natural ventilation are based on the use of natural power sources and thermal lift, offering an environmentally-friendly, cost-efficient alternative to airconditioning systems and other mechanical ventilation systems. Manage the supply of fresh air with intelligent solutions from D+H, either manually at the press of a button or automatically, and create a healthy living and working environment.

  • Low energy consumption and reduced energy costs by dispensing with active cooling and mechanical ventilation
  • Low maintenance costs due to low-maintenance technology
  • Shorter construction times due to fast, straightforward commissioning
  • Low investment costs due to lower systems engineering complexity
  • Supply of fresh air creates a healthy indoor climate and aids concentration

Importance of Indoor
Air Quality Monitoring
with Natural Ventilation

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) monitoring, combined with natural ventilation, plays a critical role in preventing the spread of diseases in schools, healthcare facilities, and public buildings. Natural ventilation dilutes and removes airborne pathogens by increasing the flow of outdoor air, but its effectiveness depends on real-time monitoring of CO2 levels, humidity, and pollutants. By tracking these factors, building managers can ensure that spaces maintain adequate fresh air exchange, reducing the concentration of viruses, bacteria, and allergens. This approach not only safeguards occupant health but also enhances learning outcomes in schools, promotes faster recovery in healthcare facilities, and creates safer, more resilient workplaces.

Why It Matters

Facades with smart ventilation are vital as they turn building envelopes into active systems that enhance comfort, health, and sustainability. By regulating airflow and natural cooling, they reduce reliance on HVAC, lowering energy use and emissions. At the same time, they improve indoor air quality, balance daylight and shading, and create healthier, more efficient spaces that support modern green building standards.
